The deadline for adopting S/4HANA coupled with the impact of the pandemic have not created the most favourable conditions for organisations. In this challenging context, business decisions that push organisations toward major change and investment in IT—to implement new management systems, for example—have fallen to the wayside.
SAP wants to step up to this challenge with a commercial proposal that will help customers understand why they need to make the move to S/4HANA. By addressing the transformation needs of each company, SAP can demonstrate the added value of becoming a Smart Business.
We at the NTT DATA S/4HANA Centre of Excellence applaud this initiative, which will no doubt encourage clients to begin their transition to S/4HANA. Here, we explain how companies can join this SAP initiative to accelerate transformation and mitigate any potential risks.
RISE with SAP is a business package that features SAP tools, services and software that can help our clients on their digital and business transformation journeys, with just one subscription.
In a single contract, a S/4HANA Cloud subscription allows you to exchange:
The RISE with SAP solution includes features for each stage of the transformation process:
The redesign of business processes: For the majority of SAP clients, the key to a successful transformation lies in redefining inefficient processes to standardise and homogenise them—making them more efficient. At the same time, these processes can be properly measured in a way that is integrated with their existing ERP system.
We understand that customers will not implement a project of this scale simply because of the new SAP system’s technical advantages. Diving into the finer details of existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement is vital for building a strong business case with quantitative and qualitative data. This will help customers decide to start the transformation process.
Through what it calls ‘Business Process Intelligence’, SAP helps companies understand where the improvements lie and discover what processes they should standardise, automate, and so on. Tools such as Process Discovery for S/4HANA Transformation—the next iteration of the Business Scenario Recommendation (BSR) report—facilitate this journey.
In addition, SAP’s acquisition of Signavio (with Process Mining becoming fully operative this summer) will help customers see which processes to use, how to use them, where bottlenecks lie, and why improvements are so necessary.
Planning and executing a successful technical migration may seem complicated to clients that already use SAP ECC. For this reason, SAP offers a series of tools including the Readiness Check and ABAP Test Cockpit to help clients analyse their existing SAP systems, and plan and execute a risk-free technical migration to S/4HANA.
This methodology has been extensively tried and tested and shown to work perfectly. When a company aspires to become a Smart Business, they often ask how they should manage their infrastructure and what software they should adopt.
RISE with SAP not only includes access to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, but also the choice of adopting hyperscaler infrastructure like Azure, AWS or GCP, or SAP’s own infrastructure. The contract includes an array of technical management services that SAP will deliver under a service-level agreement (SLA).
In addition, companies can get closer to becoming a SAP Smart Business thanks to access to the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP Logistics Business Network.
The new SAP BTP (previously known as SCP) features database management, data analysis, app development and integration, and the use of smart technology like robotic process automation. The RISE with SAP contract includes credits for SAP BTP, which allows customers to start taking advantage of its capabilities.
SAP Logistics Business Network. This allows for access to what SAP calls ‘the future of supply chains’, where unified, collaborative, and smart networks eliminate barriers and centralise data.
RISE with SAP also includes a SAP Logistics Business Network starter pack that facilitates collaboration with: suppliers through Ariba; logistics companies with the Logistics Business Network; and partners and customers via the Asset Intelligence Network.
The RISE with SAP contract includes:
Access to a suite of software, tools and services that will help you transition to a Cloud-based S/4HANA future.
However, what else does a company need, and what is not included in a RISE with SAP subscription?
Included in the single “RISE with SAP” contract are software and support, Infrastructure, administration, and managed technical services. But consulting and implementation services along with application management services are not included.
NTT DATA offers a wealth of experience in guiding customers on their transformation journey, enabling the customer’s S/4HANA transformation and providing day-to-day support and continuous innovation.
How do we help our clients in their S/4HANA adoption and transformation journey?
We help our customers by providing in-depth consultancy services so they can decide on the best strategy to follow when adopting S/4HANA and becoming a Smart Business. We answer customer questions like: Why should I move to S/4HANA now? What do I need to change? How do I do this? When should I update or make the transition?.Once the client’s S/4HANA strategy is defined, our ultimate goal is to identify a roadmap of initiatives and projects for the implementation of S/4HANA, as well as a cost estimation
These key factors make our consultancy service stand out from the rest:
Our assessment services now include RISE with SAP as one of the main pathways for implementing S/4HANA.
